Acorns Easter Holiday

Picture

Dear Acorns Families,

thank you so much for being part of this lovely Spring term so far: we sang about Spring coming, birdies, cockerels, hopping bunnies, we made bread, crafts, we had stories about the root children and the flowers and the rainbow...

Now we are on a well deserved break: the Easter Holidays will last a long time.
We are offering the The Magic of The Rainbow workshop at the Church of Ascension,
and the Easter Festival, with Easter Egg Hunt in Oxleas Woods

We are sorry to inform you we are not offering drop in sessions.

HALF TERM IS 25/05/15 – 29/05/15

The magic of the rainbow workshop

THE MAGIC OF THE RAINBOW

workshop

FRIDAY 17TH APRIL

10 am to 2 pm

AT CHURCH OF ASCENSION

ALL AGES
- RESERVE YOUR PLACE NOW WITH ADVANCE PAYMENT ONLY.
£22 FULL SESSION, £15 HALF SESSION - PRICE PER ADULT, CHILDREN FREE
£30 PER FAMILY FOR FULL SESSION (LUNCH PROVIDED)

Come on a journey through movement, sound and art.

We will explore sound, moods, movement, emotions and creativity
through  an imaginary journey
across all the colours of the rainbow.

We will stand as tall as trees, we will be as brave as lions and as joyful and light as a butterfly;

We will play and move with
children-friendly yoga poses that stir the imagination and promote a healthy mind/body connection;

We will draw, paint, sing and eat all the colours of the rainbow!

The rainbow appears like a path of colors drawn in the sky that announces the beautiful weather after the rain.
The tree first has to work on its roots in order to grow strong, accepts the nature cycles and knows how to wait patiently to regenerate.
In this session, suitable for all ages, we will discover through art-therapy and creative games
how to awaken the magic of colors and the power of creativity; this will hopefully allow you to build yourself strong roots to rise and blossom.
Come and discover yourself, find your inner animal, journey through your inner dreams, visions, find wisdom. Connect with your inner self, journey down to your roots, rise up and grow stronger, seek the light. Nourish yourself, grow and renew.

Program:

10-11 Yoga: journey through the rainbow colours, exploring movement and emotions through images of nature
11-11.45 painting: watercolour art; the rainbow colours, exploring  moods, emotions through art
11.45-12.15 lunch (eat the rainbow!)
12.30-13.00 quiet meditation with sound bath
13.00-13.45 movement through sounds, expression through movement; and vibrations through colours, games, dance, voice; exploring emotions, moods and healing.

This workshop can be attended in many ways: we suggest here a few:
- all four hours (this is for adults and older children
- attending the first two hours or the last two hours
- attending all four hours with creative ways as a family taking turns and breaks caring for            the younger children

We want to allow as much freedom as possible, giving the choice of participating fully or partially.
We suggest the use of the little back room for resting time.

Any questions please contact us. Book now via email: contact us (click on contact us)

Hopping Bunnies Easter Festival

Acorns Parent and Child's

Easter Festival

Oxleas Woods

Saturday 18th April

10 -12

Free

Hop little bunnies hop hop hop!

Let's all go hopping in Oxleas Woods!

Why? To find the chocolate eggs dropped by the Easter hare, before the squirrels eat them!
(Or the Gruffalo?!)

When? On Saturday 18th April @10.00 - 12.00.
Meet by car park-cafe area.

What to wear; anything warm, layers, and more layers...
Wellie boots (a good place to hide your chocolate eggs!)

What to bring: hot cross buns, fruit cakes, flapjacks, fruit, hot chocolate, tea, water.
Blankets, rugs, flasks, cups and a basket for filling with precious nature findings, and Easter eggs!

This event is free, so we rely on your donations, please!

Bring a secret pack of tiny chocolate eggs, we usually get milk/dark chocolate, organic or fair trade, as natural as possible.

It is a secret as we won't show the children;
on arrival, please donate the eggs to us,
we give them to the Easter Hare to drop them for the kids to find them...

The Festival is for all families of Acorns and friends and siblings, also inviting ex Acorns families, new families, old friends from Greenwich Steiner School and local families who are curious and wish to join us!

Friday baby sessions

A new group is forming ready to meet each Friday

at Church of Ascension 10.00 to 12.00

These sessions will be more suitable for parents with babies and younger children 0 to 12 months

There will be an opportunity to bond and socialize with other parents of similar age children in a very nurturing and calm environment.

A perfect antidote to the busy and noisy places for meetups, this is our little oasis!

Here parents can lay down their babies on sheepskins, watch them move freely in their own time, observing their movements, while maybe doing some knitting, or a simple craft, if they wish, or just drink herbal tea!

The session facilitator will lead you through this gentle couple of hours filled with unrushed conversations, offering support through discussions on various child development and parenting topics, quiet times, singing, yoga, creative crafts, storytelling, and much more.

A rich yet simple and nourishing session allowing space and time to truly connect with your child.

As the cherry blossoms are flowering everywhere, this seems a joyful time to bring babies out and for mums and dads to come out of their cocoons and experience these lovely sessions;

A lot of people who come to my groups started this way and are still coming to Acorns after three years!

We believe that we children of the stars meet again here on earth and find each other at Acorns!

Sessions to be booked in advance for the summer term. £55
Bookings open April 1st 2015
